Structured Family Caregiving

We provide compassionate home care through Indiana’s Medicaid Waiver Program. Discover support that helps your loved one remain safely at home. Structured Family Caregiving in Indiana is a program designed to support family members who act as primary caregivers for their loved ones. This program is part of the Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers, which aim to provide care in a community setting rather than institutional care. Here are some key aspects of Structured Family Caregiving in Indiana:

Eligibility

To qualify, both the caregiver and the care recipient must meet certain criteria. Typically, the care recipient must be eligible for Medicaid and require a level of care that would otherwise necessitate a nursing facility. The caregiver is usually a family member who lives with the care recipient.

Compensation and Support

Caregivers under this program receive financial compensation for their caregiving duties. This helps alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with full-time caregiving. Additionally, caregivers receive training and support to help them deliver high-quality care effectively.

Care Coordination

The program involves a structured plan of care that is developed in consultation with healthcare professionals. This plan is tailored to the specific needs of the care recipient and includes regular assessments to ensure that the care provided continues to meet their evolving needs.
